The Classic Wrap-On Racer!

One of Peter Stevenson's original designs and unique concept of wooden toy making! Now available for Immediate Digital Download! Read below for more information!

Peter Stevenson first started working on WrapOn toys in the early 1970’s as a simple, quick, fun way to make decorated wooden toys. He had the clever idea to print sheets of paper which would serve as both the templates for cutting the wood and the colourful decoration and detail of the toys, at the same time! As he was always a vintage racing car enthusiast, his first toy was a race car. In this case, inspired by one of the race cars which ran at the famous Brooklands track in England.

You may have seen a movie which shares the same name as this car, but the car in the film is a bit different: This WrapOn Racer was based on the actual Chitty Chitty Bang Bang driven by Count Zborowski in the 1920’s. Peter wanted to create a whole book based around a character he called Great Uncle George, a kindly older fellow who had wonderful tales to share of adventure in amazing machines. The first story is based around this Racer, and now you can build one of your own to share in the tales — And who knows; Maybe you’ll create some amazing new stories of your own!

This toy plan includes the instructions and the artwork which you print at home and wrap around a pice of 2x4, or stacked pieces of plywood or thinner lumber. It's a REALLY easy and fun project, and you can build a toy you'll treasure for years to come — We sure have! All of the kids in our family and friends had one growing up, and many of them made their own!
Now Your family can, too!! .
